Bukittinggi city lies in the chain of mountain chain that stretches along the island of Sumatra, and is surrounded by two Mount Merapi and Mount Singgalang. The city is located at an altitude of 941 meters above sea level, and has a fairly cool weather with temperatures ranging between 16.1-24.9 C.
